Una raccolta di due cd dalla Kscope, con materiale inedito, per introdurre alla band svedese degli Anekdoten.
"Sono passati ormai 18 anni da quando noi quattro ci siamo ritrovati insieme in una piccola casa nel villaggio di Djurås. Anekdoten da allora è stata una costante della nostra vita. ..."
Gli Anekdoten sono considerati uno dei principali gruppi di progressive rock contemporanea. La loro musica, intensa, dark, dinamica e originale con fa volte richiami metal, goth e post-rock, contano fan in tutto il mondo. La band si è formata nel 1991 da Anna Sofi Dahlberg, Nicklas Barker, Peter Nordins e Jan Erik Liljeström e la line up è rimasta intatta da allora. Insieme hanno rilasciato 5 album in studio con la loro etichetta Virta e 3 album live in Giappone, vendendo oltre 85.000 copie in questi anni. Chapters questo doppio cd è una raccolta di brani scelti tra i 5 album, più pezzi inediti.
Jan Erik spiega la scelta di brani: "nel primo CD troverete le nostre canzoni preferite dai nostri 3 album più recenti. Come un "bonus" finalmente in una registrazione ottimale, un brano scritto nel 1998 chiamato "When I Turn". La canzone non è stata inclusa precedentemente perchè i pezzi al piano non andavano bene, per questo abbiamo chiesto a Per Wiberg degli Opeth di aiutarci, per dar così alla luce questa creatura. Il secondo CD contiene materiale in gran parte dai nostri primi anni. Il disco prende il via con forse il più leggendario pezzo degli Anekdoten, il poema epico "Sad Rain", che in precedenza era disponibile solo in Giappone. Esistono anche versioni demo di tre canzoni dall'album Nucleus. Tutti i brani sono stati accuratamente remasterizzati da Hans Fredriksson a Audiosense ".
Chapters uscirà il 29 giugno 2009 dalla Kscope.
